“If they put me in anything that doesn’t make me hot and sexy, they are in trouble”- Omotola

Omotola Jalade-Ekehinde fondly called Omo Sexy recently spoke on her work and love for fashion and it seems since her launch of the reality show ‘The Real Me’ she’s not holding anything back.

The mother of four and wife of the pilot, Captain Matthew Ekeinde, actress, model, musician, fashion icon and NGO executive revealed her first ever pay check was N15,000 and it came from a modeling job for a malt drink in 1994.

With that came more modelling jobs then she started acting. Her first movie was Venom of Justice. “I thought I was going to be nervous but I was calm; though I was a little bit anxious. I acted like I had been doing it for some time,” she said.

Of course acting was good to her, she remembers the most expensive thing she bought at the time was a Rolex wristwatch worth about N100, 000. “I bought it when I turned 19. I bought it like I was buying a land and, funny as it is, I have lost it.”

Above all, though the years, Omosexy explains she takes her looks very important.

She said the first thing that comes to her mind when dressing is the word; “sexy” which is her image. “… everybody working with me, as stylist knows that. If they put me in anything that doesn’t make me hot and sexy, they are in trouble. I must be attractive, especially to my husband. I wear what I feel comfortable in and my hubby likes the way I dress. He’s the important one; if he doesn’t have a problem with my dressing then I am okay.”

Check out excerpts of The Guardian interview:

Your first choice fashion piece

I love blazers like I love my husband. No matter what you wear, with a hot blazer, nice high-heel shoe and good sunglasses you will make a statement and look edgy.

And your accessory

My sunglasses.

First choice scent

I have always used Flower by Kenzo, but I also love Burberry.

Which is your first love food?

I’m a fan of seafood; I love anything seafood. I love fried rice with nicely prepared prawns or shrimps and a good wine to push it down.

Your first crush on a guy and a kiss
His name was Peter, but I can’t remember his other name. We were both in primary school at the time. My first kiss was a stolen one; the guy just did it and ran away. And if you want to know his name that means you have to wait till cocks start growing teeth.

Your first embarrassment and how did you handle it?

Nothing embarrasses me because I see everything as a challenge. I was once bounced at Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), though I was relatively new in the movie industry then. I told my friend then that I was going to win the award the coming year and it happened, because I worked hard towards it.

First thing you fancy in people

I don’t make up my mind immediately about people when I see or come in contact with them. I think that is one thing that has helped me generally. In life, people react to things in different ways. When I make friends with people I try to know them more to identify the kind of person they are.

Your first car

A fourth grade Tokunbo BMW. You know that kind of car that takes about 30 minutes to start. I knew the car and the car knew me.

Gov Idris Wada Rejects Treatment Abroad

Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State may not be flown abroad for the treatment of the injuries he sustained in the accident involving his convoy on Friday, his doctors have disclosed.
Doctors at the hospital where the governor was receiving treatment hinted, yesterday, that Wada rejected the option of flying him abroad for further treatment after undergoing what was described as inter-locking nail surgery on his thigh broken in the crash.

The surgery, which lasted two hours, was said to have been successful.
Mr Jacob Edi, the governor’s spokesman said Wada was in stable condition.
“I saw His Excellency after the unfortunate accident. He has been stabilised since last night (Friday). I spoke with him and he shook my hands. It was after he stabilised that he was flown to Abuja,” Edi told newsmen.
The governor was said to have suffered a broken thigh among other injuries when his vehicle ran into a ditch after a tyre busted on Friday afternoon at Emi Woro village, about 12 kilometers to Lokoja, the state capital, on his way back from Kogi State University where he attended a function. His ADC died while his driver reportedly escaped unhurt.
The governor was rushed to the Kogi State Specialist, Lokoja where he was treated before he was taken to Cedar Crest Hospital, Abuja for further treatment.
The Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Felix Ogodengbe, who spoke for the doctors handling the governor’s treatment, confirmed, yesterday, that Wada, suffered a broken thigh among other injuries.
According to Ogedengbe, the governor ruled out the option of being flown abroad for further treatment of his injuries after a two-hour operation on the thigh on Friday night.
“When the governor was brought in at 8pm (on Friday), we were told he was involved in a car accident and we checked him and explained the nature of his injuries to him. We also told him about our ability to manage the injuries. He had a broken thigh and he was taken to the theatre. The governor has since stabilized and he had a nice night; he said he would not be taken abroad for treatment because he has confidence in our capacity to manage him. There is no immediate need to fly him abroad.”
The medical director could, however, not state the possible date when Wada would be discharged, saying he needed time to recuperate.
“The governor is quite happy to take treatment here; the treatment is on-going. He needs some days in the hospital and I can’t give a date of discharge now.”
Meanwhile, Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State, yesterday, prayed God to grant Wada quick recovery even as he urged Nigerians to also pray for the governor.
Orji, who described the accident as “very sad and shocking”, also commiserated with the family of the Kogi governor’s ADC, who died in the accident.
The Abia governor, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Ugochukwu Emezue, lamented the death of the ADC.
Vice President Namadi Sambo; Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State; and a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national chairman, Alhaji Ahmadu Ali; were among those who visited the Abuja hospital to see the injured Wada yesterday. [VN]

Youtube strips 2billion fake video views from Rihanna, Justin Bieber and others

Some of these pop stars are artificial inflating their video views on Youtube to make themselves appear more popular online. Youtube chiefs recently stri*ped 2 billion views from pop videos on its site amid fears the figures were faked.
Rihanna, Justin Bieber and other music stars under Universal Music label lost 1 billion views.
Rita Ora, Alicia Keys, Labrinth and other music stars under Sony Music label lost 850 million views.
Michael Jackson’s feed lost 287 million views, while Beyonce lost 151 million views
Youtube stri*ped the views without suggesting the music stars or their labels were directly involved in artificially inflating them. Some fans who are hackers could have inflated them, or maybe the labels paid the ‘hackers’ to take up the numbers.

31-Year-Old Taxi Driver Stones Passenger To Death

A taxi driver allegedly stoned his passenger to death following a brawl as they drove from the city centre towards Pumula East, in Zimbabwe on December 19.

Naison Sibanda (31) of Pumula South was not asked to plead to the murder of Martin Dawirai when he briefly appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Themba Chimiso on Thursday. He was remanded in custody to January 11 and was advised to apply to the High Court for bail.

State counsel Tatenda Dakwa told the court that on December 19, Dawirai hired Sibanda's taxi and indicated that he wanted to be driven home in Pumula East. On the way, the two allegedly had an argument over an undisclosed matter until they reached Dawirai's home. After alighting from the vehicle, Dawirai allegedly went to the driver's side and allegedly assaulted Sibanda.

Sibanda managed to set himself free and came out of the vehicle. He exchanged blows with Dawirai who later fell into a storm drain. Sibanda allegedly went on to pick a stone and struck him Dawirai once on the head, inflicting serious head injuries on him.

After realising that he had seriously injured his passenger, Sibanda handed himself to the police. Dawirai was then taken to hospital where he died the following morning due to the injuries he sustained in the attack.

Sibanda was then arrested and charged with murder.

Two Sweaters Knitted By Myanmar’s Suu Kyi Sell For N19m

Myanmar’s cash-strapped opposition party is tapping into the prestige of its leader, Aung San Suu Kyi. Two sweaters hand-knit by the leader have been auctioned for $123,000 (N19,206,450).
A green-and-white sweater with a floral design sold at a Friday night auction to an anonymous bidder for 63 million kyat, or $74,120 (N11,573,838).
On Thursday, a Myanmar-based radio station won a bidding war for a multi-coloured V-neck that fetched $49,000 (N7,651,350).
Suu Kyi has not publicly reacted to the success of her party’s two-day fundraiser, but aides said she was pleased with the results.
“Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is satisfied with the auction and the donations received,” close aide Ko Ni said Saturday. “She needs a lot of cash to carry out projects for the welfare of the people.” Daw is a term of respect in Myanmar.
The auction was part of a fundraising event organised by Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy party to raise money for education of poor children and health projects in Myanmar an impoverished Southeast Asian nation also known as Burma.
Both sweaters were knitted by Suu Kyi at least 25 years ago when she was living in England and raising her two children, Ko Ni told The Associated Press.

Photos: Unbelievable- Akon Settles fight In Calabar

Now, this is one hilarious and daring news to set off your Sunday on a good footing. Akon was in Cross River state to perform at the annual Calabar Carnival along side Psquare, MayD and Jmartins. The Senegalese born American R & B superstar was busy doing his performance inside the UJ Esuene stadium when he noticed a group of boys fighting and asked them to stop.
According to what we gathered, the singer threatened to go through the mammoth crowd to settle the fight if they wouldn’t stop but the fighting group were too busy drawing blood to listen and before the fans knew what was happening, Akon had jumped into the crowd even as his bodyguards were taken by surprise.
He reportedly kept screaming “Lift me up..ama go out there, take me there.” Instead of lifting him to where the fight was taking place, the crowd was more interested in stripping him of his belt and the left leg of his shoe. By the time his bodyguards reached him, his belt buckle was gone too.
Not one to give up easily, Akon went back stage and to the crowd’s bewilderment, the singer got into some kind of protective balloon, stood on stage and then suddenly leapt into the crowd, shielded by that balloon as the crowd kept throwing him around the stadium like a ball.
Eventually, he fulfilled his mission and the Calabar crowd steered him safely back towards the stage where he came out of the balloon sending the crowd into a wild frenzy.

British Actress Kate Winslet Marries For Third Time

British Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet has married for the third time, her publicist confirmed on Thursday.
The 37-year-old, best known for her starring role in the 1997 blockbuster “Titanic”, married Ned RocknRoll, a nephew of music and aviation tycoon Richard Branson.
The private ceremony was attended by Winslet’s two children from previous marriages and “a very few friends and family”, according to the publicist, and took place in New York earlier this month.
“The couple had been engaged since the summer,” Winslet’s spokeswoman said in a statement.
Winslet has been nominated for six Academy Awards and won once for her lead role in “The Reader”.
Her other notable performances include Iris Murdoch in “Iris”, Clementine Kruczynski in “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and April in “Revolutionary Road”.
That film was directed by Sam Mendes, whom Winslet wed in 2003 and divorced seven years later. Her first marriage was to Jim Threapleton, which lasted from 1998 to 2001.
According to online reports, RocknRoll had his name changed by deed poll from Ned Abel Smith and is an executive for Branson’s space flight venture Virgin Galactic.
The Sun newspaper said the New York wedding was so secret that even the couple’s parents did not know about it.
Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who co-starred with Winslet in Titanic and Revolutionary Road, gave her away, the newspaper said.

Pete Edochie Is Not Dead

The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ibinabo Fiberesima, on Saturday debunked an online report claiming that veteran actor, Pete Edochie, had died after falling off a cliff in Austria.

According to a report by PUNCH Newspaper, Ms Fiberesima had responded to an SMS enquiry on the report by saying “It is not true at all.”
A website, Global Associated News, claimed that Mr Edochie died while filming a movie in Kitzbühel, Austria early Saturday.
“Preliminary reports from Austrian Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 50 feet to his death in a remote area of the Hahnenkamm Mountains while on-set during the filming of a movie.
“Specific details are not yet available. The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. (UTC/GMT +12).

The false report created a buzz on social media as commentators sought to find out the truth.

Arsenal 7-3 Newcastle: Walcott’s Hat-Trick Settles Astonishing Game

Arsenal on Saturday came out top in a 10-goal thriller at Emirates Stadium with Theo Walcott producing a brilliant hat-trick while substitute Oliver Giroud both twice, with Demba Ba, a touted replacement for both, answering twice for Newcastle United.
Theo Walcott scored a brilliant hat-trick as Arsenal thumped seven past a hapless Newcastle
Walcott, deployed in the role he so desperately craves up front, broke the deadlock with 20 minutes gone, shaping a classy finish into the far corner.
However, as the half progressed the Englishman wasted two good chances, and was made to pay when Demba Ba’s free-kick was deflected beyond Wojciech Szczesny just before the break.
It was costly miss, as Walcott countered with evidence of his own striking virtues to put Arsenal ahead. Newcastle were undone by a single pass, Lukas Podolski’s ball into the inside-left channel freeing Walcott.
The finish was reminiscent of his predecessor in the No 14 shirt, Thierry Henry, who watched from the stands as Walcott cut in on goal and rolled the ball right-footed across Krul into the far corner.
Newcastle showed at Old Trafford that they have spirit despite their dismal form, and so it proved here. With five minutes remaining in the half Demba Ba produced the equaliser, albeit with a considerable help from Jack Wilshere.
After Gabriel Obertan was fouled by Bacary Sagna 20 yards from the Arsenal goal, Ba struck the free kick which took a huge deflection off the back of Wilshere’s head as he turned away from the ball. It was reminiscent of Samir Nasri’s half-hearted efforts in the Manchester City wall at Old Trafford earlier this month, and brought a similar result. Szczesny was wrong-footed by the touch and was a spectator as the ball rolled in.
Whatever was said in the dressing rooms at half-time, neither defence was listening as the second half brought six goals in 23 minutes.
Within five minutes of the restart Arsenal were back ahead, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain finishing powerfully from the edge of the box after being fed by Santi Cazorla, quiet by his standards hitherto.
Back came Newcastle again, the excellent Sylvain Marveaux left with the freedom of Holloway by Kieran Gibbs to tap in from two yards on 59 minutes after an Obertan step-over had taken him to the byline past Sagna.
Arsenal were ahead again within five minutes, Podolski getting the goal his efforts deserved with a header from a yard out after Wilshere’s cross had been headed against his own bar by Fabricio Coloccini.
Demba Ba’s second equaliser came on 69 minutes and again owed a little to Gibbs, who was watching the ball rather than his man as the striker ran onto Marveaux’s cross to slide home.
Walcott put his side ahead for the fourth time four minutes later, finishing smartly from 12 yards after a Gibbs cross fell to him. He then created Arsenal’s fifth, crossing for substitute Olivier Giroud to head home.
Giroud’s second, and Arsenal’s sixth, as he shot from a narrow angle, before Walcott completed his hat-trick with a mazy run and a contemptuous chip over Krul.

Woman Tears Maid’s Private Part With Razor

A middle aged woman, simply identified as Uchenna is cooling her feet at the Onitsha Police Area Command for breaking her maid’s hand and tearing her private part with razor blade. Saturday Sun gathered that the woman allegedlly used a pestle to break her maid’ left hand and inflicted very deep cuts in her private part with a razor blade in the commercial city of Onitsha

The incident took place at Osuma Street where the victim, Chisom Nwafor is living with her mistress before she was attacked by the suspect. Narrating her ordeal, Chisom, a 10 year old girl from Enugu-Abo in Enugu State said her mistress returned to the house last Sunday morning and started beating her and used razor blade on her private parts. “I was changing her daughter’s dress because she urinated on it.

My madam entered and started shouting on top of her voice and she immediately rushed into the kitchen and collected pestle and hit me severally on my back and she hit me again and broke my left hand, I fell and she entered her room and took a razor blade, tore my pant and started tearing my private part after which she poured pepper inside my private part which was bleeding” she said. Speaking on the incident, the Onitsha Area Commander, Benjamin Wordu described the incident as highest level of inhumanity and said the suspect would pay for her actions.

Mr. Wordu warned parents to always give birth to children they can train instead of giving them out to such women he described as devil incarnates who maltreat vulnerable children under their care. Meanwhile, the suspect, Uchenna shouting from the police cell, denied using razor blade on the victim when this reporter visited the police station.
